Men Make Dinner Day

National Men Make Dinner Day was created for two reasons. First, it is to give the ladies a break from the cooking chores. Secondly, it seeks to encourage men who do not cook, to learn to cook, beginning by making a meal on this day. Of course, even men who do cook, should celebrate this day by making a meal. For the experienced male cook, we encourage you to make something challenging.

Dio De los Muertos

Translated to English, this is “The Day of the Dead”. In actuality, Dio De Los Muertos is not one, but two days spent in honor of the dead. The first day celebrates infants and children who have died. This is a group which is believed to have a special place in heaven, and are referred to as “Angelitos” or little angels. The second day is in honor of adults who have passed away.

Look for Circles Day

Look For Circles Day  is today. Go forth, in search of circles. We suspect you will find them everywhere. Looking for circles, is a lot like swimming in a round pool. You go round and round. There’s a lots of splashing. But, you don’t get anywhere.

Plan Your Epitaph Day

Plan Your Epitaph Day is a day is a little bit morbid for my liking. My first thought was who would create this day? And, why? I don’t want to think about it, let alone plan it.

All Souls Day

The Christian holiday of All Soul’s Day pays respect and remembers the souls of all friends and loved ones who have died and gone to heaven. It is a time to pray for their souls that they may be received into heaven. Upon death, it is believed that souls have not yet been cleansed of sin. Praying for souls of loved ones helps to remove the stain of sin, and allow the souls to enter the pearly gates of heaven. All Souls Day was started in 998.
